Wargame: Red Dragon is a real-time strategy video game developed by Eugen Systems and released in April 2014 by Focus Home Interactive as a sequel to the Wargame: AirLand Battle from 2013. Similarly to the previous games from the franchise, it is set during the Cold War, but this time focuses on the East Asia region, introducing new nations of China, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, and ANZAC. The title allows you to command an army consisting of ground, air, and naval forces, and fight your opponent for area domination on 1:1 scale battlefields.StoryWargame: Red Dragon is set in an alternative version of history during the Cold War, where the Soviet Union doesn’t collapse. As a commander leading your troops, you will be able to experience first-hand the struggle between forces of NATO and Warsaw Pact in East Asia.Gameplay and Game ModesWargame: Red Dragon main mode is the single-player campaign which is split into two parts. The first one is turn-based and it gives you an overview of the entire region, where you can start your operations and move units between different regions or declare battles. The second one takes you to the battlefield, where you can command chosen units in real-time in order to defeat the opposing forces and either hold the region or take it back from the enemy.Battles take place on huge maps representing realistic areas on a 1:1 scale, containing several strategic locations you can capture. Once the battle starts you can deploy your units on the battlefield and move them around, order to shoot at the enemy units, make them fall back, change formations, and more. Because of how large the maps are, the game features an option to significantly zoom out the visible area.Alternatively, you can play skirmishes or join the multiplayer, where you can manually select what units you want to include in your deck, giving you an option to create a very unique combination of troops that will fit your individual taste and playstyle. There are over a thousand units available to choose from, including various types of soldier groups, tanks, helicopters, and warships from the Cold War era.ReceptionWargame Red Dragon received positive reviews. Reviewers praised the strategic value of the title and the gameplay that favors strategic thinking instead of fast clicking. They also appreciated the visuals and the fact that Red Dragon turned out to be an enhanced version of the previous games, improving the existing mechanics that proved to be working well but needed a little tweak, but at the same time introducing certain new solutions to make the title more enjoyable.

It's wrecked the careers of promising young geniuses. It's evaporated great fortunes and run companies into the ground. It's made adversity unbearable and turned struggle into shame. Every great philosopher has warned against it, in our most lasting stories and countless works of art, in all culture and all ages. Its name? Ego, and it is the enemy - of ambition, of success and of resilience. In Ego is the Enemy, Ryan Holiday shows us how and why ego is such a powerful internal opponent to be guarded against at all stages of our careers and lives, and that we can only create our best work when we identify, acknowledge and disarm its dangers. Drawing on an array of inspiring characters and narratives from literature, philosophy and history, the book explores the nature and dangers of ego to illustrate how you can be humble in your aspirations, gracious in your success and resilient in your failures. The result is an inspiring and timely reminder that humility and confidence are our greatest friends when confronting the challenges of a culture that tends to fan the flames of ego, a book full of themes and life lessons that will resonate, uplift and inspire.

At the end of an especially raucous day at his neighborhood bar, private eye Leo Waterman is surprised to see his old flame, Rebecca Duval, walk in the door. But King County's medical examiner is here on business, not pleasure. Two dead bodies, covered by an old coat that once belonged to Leo's father, have turned up in the trunk of a car. The only thing that seems to connect the men is a controversial local church and its charismatic pastor. With help from Rebecca and surveillance expert Carl Cradduck, Leo begins to put the pieces of the puzzle together. While a pair of goons do their best to chase him off the case, Leo painstakingly retraces the victims' final days, charting their unusual search for redemption - from a downtown homeless encampment to suburban McMansions to the shores of Salvation Lake. There Leo must confront an opponent hell-bent on retribution in order to get to the twisted truth about the killings. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Patrick Lawlor. Jack Kemp: The Bleeding-Heart Conservative Who ...

The purpose of politics is not to defeat your opponent as much as it is to provide superior leadership and better ideas than the opposition. - Jack Kemp The late 1970s were miserable for America. It was the post-Vietnam, post-Watergate era, a time of high unemployment, ruinous inflation, gasoline lines, Communist advances, and bottomed-out US morale. In the 1980s it all turned around: "stagflation" ended, and nearly two decades of prosperity ensued. The Soviet Union retreated then collapsed. America again believed in itself. And around the world, democratic capitalism was deemed "the end of history". Ronald Reagan's policies sparked the American renaissance, but the Gipper's leadership is only part of the story. The economic theory that underpinned America's success was pioneered by a star professional quarterback turned self-taught intellectual and "bleeding-heart conservative": Jack Kemp. Kemp's role in a pivotal period in American history is at last illuminated in this first-ever biography, which also has lessons for the politics of today. Kemp was the congressional champion of supply-side economics - the idea that lowering taxes would foster growth. Even today, almost no one advocates a return to a top income tax rate of 70 percent. Kemp didn't just challenge the Democratic establishment. He also encouraged his fellow Republicans to be growth (not austerity) minded, open their tent to minorities and blue-collar workers, battle poverty and discrimination, and once again become "the party of Lincoln". Kemp approached politics the same way he played quarterback for the Buffalo Bills: with a refusal to accept defeat. Yet he also was incapable of personal attack, arguing always on the level of ideas. He regarded opponents as adversaries, not enemies, and often cooperated with them to get things done.... 1. Language: English. Narrator: Morton Kondracke, Fred Barnes. THE ART OF WAR (Chinese: ¿¿¿¿; pinyin: Sunzi bingfa) is an ancient Chinese military treatise attributed to Sun Tzu, a high-ranking military general, strategist and tactician, and kindred to the Realpolitik of his time, termed in China as Legalism. The text is composed of 13 chapters, each of which is devoted to one aspect of warfare. It is commonly thought of as a definitive work on military strategy and tactics. It has been the most famous and influential of China's Seven Military Classics, and "for the last two thousand years it remained the most important military treatise in Asia, where even the common people knew it by name." It has had an influence on Eastern and Western military thinking, business tactics, legal strategy and beyond. Beyond its military and intelligence applications from earliest days to the present time, THE ART OF WAR has been applied to many fields well outside of the military. Much of the text is about how to fight wars without actually having to do battle: it gives tips on how to outsmart one's opponent so that physical battle is not necessary. As such, it has found application as a training guide for many competitive endeavors that do not involve actual combat. There are business books applying its lessons to office politics and corporate strategy. Many companies make the book required reading for their key executives. The book is also popular among Western business management, who have turned to it for inspiration and advice on how to succeed in competitive business situations. It has also been applied to the field of education. The Art of War has been the subject of law books and legal articles on the trial process, including negotiation tactics and trial strategy.
