If you aspire to lead, whether in business or your community, this book is just what you need. Leadership authority Donald T. Phillips offers a uniquely inspiring approach. He presents real-life scenarios from the American Revolution to illustrate how to overcome the toughest odds and achieve success. As you learn the strategies that worked for our founding fathers, you will share in the very principles that founded America. When the colonists' situation under British tyranny became desperate, dynamic leaders arose from the masses. Washington, Paine, Franklin, and other men of integrity banded together to manifest a shared vision. They forged a team of patriots who withstood impossible conditions and overcame an opponent who seemed invincible. As a leadership consultant, lecturer, and best-selling author, Donald T. Phillips has inspired many to greatness. His leadership series also includes Lincoln on Leadership. Veteran narrator Nelson Runger delivers his insightful lessons in a clear voice, full of conviction. 1. Language: English. Narrator: George Wilson. It is 1805 and Ensign Richard Sharpe, having secured a reputation as a fighting soldier in India, is on his way home to join the newly formed Green Jackets. The voyage should be a period of rest but his ship is riven with treachery and threatened by a formidable French warship, the Revenant, which is terrorizing British shipping in the Indian ocean. An old opponent of Sharpe's is aboard his ship, and the voyage is further disturbed by the Lady Grace Hale, apparently as unreachable as she is beautiful. Sharpe also has friends, notably a captain of the Royal Navy who is hunting the Revenant and who rescues Sharpe when all seems lost. The hunt turns into a stern chase as the French warship races home, carrying a treaty that could ignite India into a new war against the British. Yet when the Revenant encounters the combined French and Spanish fleet of Cadiz, it seems that Sharpe's enemies have found safety, even as his enemies on board seem to have him trapped. Yet over the horizon is another fleet, led by Nelson, and Sharpe's revenge will come in a savage climax when the two armadas meet on a calm October day off Cape Trafalgar. Sharpe's Trafalgar introduces Richard Sharpe to the horrors of a battle at sea, and finds him at his most ruthless as he struggles not just for revenge, but for the woman he loves. 1. How to Sweet-Talk a Shark: Strategies and Stori...

Sharks are not evil. But they're single minded and very, very hungry. On land, they take the form of bosses, businesspeople, colleagues, family, and sociopathic neighbors. In the world of former governor of New Mexico and US ambassador to the United Nations Bill Richardson, they have taken the form of the most powerful people in the world. He's engaged in high-stakes, face-to-face negotiations with Castro, Saddam, the Taliban, two generations of North Korean leadership, and many more of the world's most infamous dictators - and done it so well he was known as the "Undersecretary of Thugs" while with the Clinton administration. Now the 5-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee tells these stories - from Washington, DC, to the Middle East to Pyongyang - in all their intense and sometimes absurd glory. How to Sweet-Talk a Shark is a rare, candid, and entertaining glimpse into an insider's world of high-stakes negotiation - showing Richardson's successes and failures in some of the world's least friendly places. Meanwhile, listeners get frank lessons in the art of negotiation: how to prepare, how to size up your opponent, how to understand the nature of power in a standoff, how to give up only what is necessary while getting what you want, and many other strategies Richardson has mastered through at-the-table experience - and from working with other master negotiators like Presidents Obama and Clinton, and Nelson Mandela. These are takeaways that anyone can use to negotiate with the power brokers, deal makers, and, yes, the hungry sharks in their own lives. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Clinton Wade. Teagan:I wanted to go home.   Moving to America wouldn't have been so bad if it weren't for the family next door, but because of my so-called guardian - and I used that term lightly - we were the latest family to take up residency in Thirteenth Street, and I was the sole target of the bitch over the fence.  But, for me, life was a lot to get a lot worse.  Noah Messina, Ellie's step-brother, had decided to join her torment-the-new-girl-until-she-cracks mission.  There had been a fight in their driveway last weekend between Noah and some other tattooed douchebag that had progressed into our yard, resulting in the windshield of my car being smashed when Noah pummeled his opponent through it. Thinking back now I had to admit that I sort of overreacted when I stalked outside in nothing but a Coldplay T-shirt and a black thong and tossed an entire can of white gloss paint over the hood of Noah's black Lexus in retaliation. I guess it had felt damn good to fight back instead of letting them walk all over me....Destroying Noah's car with paint was like waving a red rag in front of a bull. He lost it. Right there in my driveway, with his T-shirt ripped from his body and blood dripping from his eyebrow, Noah Messina had thrown the biggest man-tantrum I'd ever seen before declaring war on me....Noah:I was going to lose my shit over the girl-next-door.  God, three months of having her live next door to me and I still felt like slamming my head into the garden wall - now worse than ever since she had challenged me.  The defiance in her eyes as she stared at me down before bending over the hood of my baby and emptying the can of paint was something that struck a chord inside of me. I'd never been so angry or turned on in my life.  Pure rage had flooded my veins, driven on even further when Teagan taunted me with her potty mouth and yeah, I'd kind of lost it with her. Problem was I 1. Language: English. Narrator: Nelson Hobbs, Lulu Russell. Audio sample: http://samples.audible.de/bk/tant/011873/bk_tant_011873_sample.mp3. Digital audiobook in aax.
