The face of terror is hard to recognize - especially when it´s homegrown. Blair Powell is set to join her father on the campaign trail even though a domestic terrorist group has already launched one attack on President Andrew Powell´s life. The orchestrators of the assassination attempt are still at large, and Andrew´s opponent is a popular ultra-conservative with questionable ties to the radical right. Blair´s wife, DHS Deputy Director Cameron Roberts, has been charged with the task of tracking down those responsible for the attack, while secretly searching for proof that a powerful senator is involved in treason. Cam has an ace in the hole no one knows about, however - an agent deep undercover in the stronghold of a radical militia group, FBI SA Loren McElroy. Cam´s biggest challenge is running the terrorists to ground without getting McElroy and her renegade handler, Skylar Dunbar, killed in the cross fire. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Abby Craden. Surprisingly neglected in accounts of Allied wartime triumphs, in 1941 British and Commonwealth forces completed a stunning and important victory in East Africa against an overwhelmingly superior Italian opponent. A hastily formed British-led force, never larger than 70,000 strong, advanced along two fronts to defeat nearly 300,000 Italian and colonial troops. This compelling book draws on an array of previously unseen documents to provide both a detailed campaign history and a fresh appreciation of the first significant Allied success of the war. Andrew Stewart investigates such topics as Britain´s African wartime strategy; how the fighting forces were assembled (most from British colonies, none from the US); General Archibald Wavell´s command abilities and his difficult relationship with Winston Churchill; the resolute Italian defense at Keren, one of the most bitterly fought battles of the entire war; the legacy of the campaign in East Africa; and much more. 1. The appeal of the strong-man ruler, sailing in from on high to fix a broken system is nothing new. It was the same charismatic ´´champion-of-the-people´´ sales pitch that brought anti-democratic dictators such as Hugo Chavez, Mussolini, and the Kim family to power in the 20th century. While not qualified or temperamentally fit for the presidency, Donald Trump is a remarkable salesman. He´s also a decent brand-advocate and an accomplished con-artist. By tapping into the textbook elements of fascism (nationalism, authoritarianism, militarism, and the scapegoating of immigrants and minorities) Trump has produced a toxic, but darkly alluring political brand, one based in fear and falsehoods. In Believe Me, B. Joey Basamanowicz dissects 21 outright lies Donald Trump has perpetrated since announcing his candidacy in the summer of 2015. From empty promises, to revisionist histories, to baseless attacks on his opponents, Donald Trump has become a larger-than-life, Trumped-up caricature of the slimy, say-anything politician. Believe Me probes Trump´s opportunistic manipulations of a Washington-weary public, while pondering the unprecedented dangers posed by a Donald Trump presidency. 1. Language: English. In 3400 AD, mankind has colonized the Pleiad star cluster where mighty corporations vie for control and influence. Each player equips fleets with escort ships and upgrades and uses them to control star systems for VPs. Diplomatic leverage, cunning, and brute force will determine the victor. In Fleets, mighty corporations combat each other for control of the Pleiad star cluster. It is a twofold battle of diplomatic influence and brute force. In each game round, players take turns developing their fleets and buying new ones. Equipping them with escort ships and upgrades in different combinations will determine their strengths and weaknesses. But building and developing the fleets is just the beginning. The inhabited worlds of the Pleiad star cluster are not numerus enough for all ambitious corporations. Each player must distribute his/her fleets among the desired systems, trying to avoid the larger fleets of the opponents, and at the same time occupying the wealthiest planets. But then the diplomacy begins! As each player has an equal basic influence in the Pleiad Council, they will all play out their will as diplomatic actions. These include retreating their fleets from battle, forcing opposing fleets to retreat, gaining benefits from systems, and so on.When all is said and done, there will be a battle at each system where two or more fleets are located. With a lot of adrenaline and cunning gameplay, this is where the fate of each fleet is determined. In each battle, all ships get to shoot once. Fleets will be destroyed, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. When the battles are over, each fleet that is alone at a system will give 1 Victory Point to its owner. The players also receive resources from the systems where they are stationed. Then a new round will start. When a player reaches 7 Victory Points, he/she wins the game.
