Guillotine Choke

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The guillotine choke is a chokehold in martial arts and wrestling applied from in front of the opponent. The choke involves using the arms to encircle the opponent's neck in a fashion similar to a guillotine. The technique is either a type of tracheal compression restraint (wind choke) that prevents air flow to the lungs, or a blood choke depending on how it is applied. When executed from the ground, the person applying it will try to control the opponent by the hips, for instance using a closed guard. This is done to prevent the opponent from escaping the hold, and to be able to apply additional pressure by extending the hips. It's a very effective maneuver when performed correctly.

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Arm triangle choke, arm triangle, or head and arm choke are generic terms describing blood chokeholds in which the opponent is strangled in between his or her own shoulder and the practitioner's arm. This is as opposed to the regular triangle choke, which denotes a chokehold using the legs, albeit with a similar mechanism of strangulation against the opponent's own shoulder. An arm triangle choke where the practitioner is on the side of the opponent and presses a forearm into opposite side of the neck of the opponent is known as a side choke, such as from the kata-gatame hold.

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The use of chokeholds has become quite prevalent, in competitions such as Brazilian Jujitsu, Competition Sambo, Submission Wrestling, Mixed Martial Arts, it also has Law enforcement and military applications. A Choke-Out is when one person uses force and leverage (a chokehold) in order to subdue an opponent, and thereby making said opponent lose consciousness. A Choke-out should not be confused with erotic asphyxiation, the fainting game, in these cases the person that loses consciousness intentionally loses consciousness for the stimulation their body receives. A choke-out should also not be confused with any medical conditions causing fainting to happen without the application of a chokehold.
